Payroll Tax Exemption and Qualified Employers
In March 2010, in order to encourage U.S. companies to hire, the President of the United States signed a new law that exempts businesses that hire "qualified individuals" from paying the 6.2% Social Security payroll tax normally paid by employers through December 2010.

The total rebate for all the U.S. Aker Solutions companies in the U.S. from this was $227,000.
